How John Works

John is built as a private AI coworker, not a chatbot bolted onto a shared pool. You give him a goal; he works across your connected tools, closes the loop, and reports back.

Each customer gets a private workspace set up just for them. Conversations, files, connected accounts, and memory stay there. They are never mixed with another customer’s data.

That isolation is the product difference: the same kind of execution power, without parking your business next to anyone else’s.

  • Slack - team delegation. Add John in your workspace and message him in DMs or threads. Teammates in the same thread share one conversation. Slack is beta. Guide: Slack.
  • Telegram - personal delegation. You choose who can message John. Guide: Telegram.

WhatsApp is on the roadmap and is not available yet.

John connects to the tools you already use (mail, calendar, CRM, project trackers, and many more) through an app library. You connect accounts from the dashboard. John then pulls together what he needs for a task and acts across those tools in one go.

You can revoke a connection anytime from the dashboard. Guide: Connections.

That is different from Apps on johnceo.app: sites John builds and hosts for you as public links. See Apps.

You write who John is: chief of staff, executive assistant, ops lead, listing coordinator, or whatever fits your business. Tone, priorities, and how he talks are yours to define.

John keeps context in your private workspace: your role, your tone, your priorities, and what you said last week. Every useful task makes him sharper about your business.

  • Memory lives on your space. It never mixes with other customers.
  • In Slack, people in the same thread share that conversation’s context so collaboration stays coherent.
  • Channel context stays in that channel. Direct messages never surface in channel answers.
  • Telegram is a personal one-to-one chat on the same private-workspace store. It does not use Slack-style channel walls.
  • You stay in control of what John knows through persona, settings, and what you choose to share in chat.

How audience isolation works, plus an internal quality check: Memory.

Optional conversation sharing (off unless you turn it on in Settings) can send conversation data to the John CEO team for product improvement and support. It is separate from Slack’s no-training rule. See Persona and settings and Security.

John does not offer a “wipe everything” button in the app today. Stop sharing in chat, disconnect tools you no longer want him to use, and adjust persona. If you need account-level deletion, use Support or Contact.

Skills are domain playbooks that teach John how a kind of work is done so you do not repeat the same instructions every week. They do not replace a connected app or a clear brief, and not every industry named in marketing has its own shipped playbook.

  • Default skills ship with every workspace.
  • You can enable more from the skill library in the dashboard.
  • Community playbooks may also be available; John CEO has not reviewed community skills - treat them as unvetted.

Together, connections plus playbooks are how John can take on jobs across domains without you rewriting the same instructions every week. The selected skill library is small; community playbooks are beta and unreviewed. Guide: Skills.

For risky actions (for example sending on your behalf), John asks first. Guide: Approvals. He does not use your personal bank card today. An optional wallet and virtual card are on the roadmap, with limits you would set. They are not live.

John CEO is in early access with selective hire. Solo and Pro billing are live. Team plans and some channels (for example WhatsApp) may still be preview or unavailable. When something is not live yet, the product and these docs say so.
